Seasons of SARTAJ

 More Than My Gender

They say I'm a girl, and that gives me a gain,
A head start in life, or a pass through the rain.
But what they don't see, or choose to ignore,
Is I work just as hard, maybe even more.

I'm more than my gender, more than they know,
My skills and my strength, that's how I grow.
I won't take the credit for just being "she,"
Because who I am runs far deeper than they see.

Five years from now ...

Five Years From Now: A Feeling, Not a Title

Whenever someone asks me, "Where do you see yourself in five years?" I never reach for a job title or a salary figure. I reach for a feeling.

Five years from now, I hope I wake up excited about my day. Maybe I'll be walking into an office I genuinely love. Maybe I'll be running something of my own. I can already picture myself wearing sarees to work on random days not for any occasion, just because I feel like it, and because they make me feel like me.There's one dream I keep circling back to: a small cafรฉ with a library attached to it. A place where people can come to talk, read, work, or simply sit alone without feeling lonely.

I think I want this because I've spent so much of my life enjoying my own company. I know exactly how comforting it is to have a quiet corner in the world and I want to build one for other people too.

I see myself living in a home of my own with the person I love. Not my parents' house. Not my in-laws' house. A place that belongs to us where we get to build our own routines, our own traditions, our own memories, from scratch.

I also see myself driving a nice car. It might sound like a small thing, but ever since I was younger, watching women drive confidently on their own gave me this strange little thrill. I always thought, one day, I want that life too. Five years from now, I want to be living it.

I want to travel as much as I possibly can. Landour is at the very top of my list. And from there who knows? Maybe London. Maybe standing in front of the Eiffel Tower one day, smiling because a dream I've carried for years finally came true.

I secretly hope for a beautiful proposal someday the kind of moment that becomes a favourite memory for life.

And maybe, much later, two little kids. That dream still feels far away, but it's there, quietly sitting on my bucket list, waiting its turn.

More than anything, I hope I become the kind of woman who is happy with the life she's built. Independent. Loved. Financially secure. Still curious about the world, and still dreaming of new things.

If I can become that person in five years, I think I'll be doing just fine.

What does your five-year feeling look like? I'd love to know.

The Rebel at the Dinner Table

The Rebel at the Dinner Table

There are six of us in my family. My parents, my brother, my two sisters and me. On most evenings, they sit together talking, laughing, sharing little stories that only they seem to understand. And then there’s me, the one who quietly slips into her room, shutting the door behind her as if that’s where I belong.
It’s not that I don’t love them. I do. It’s not even that I want to distance myself forever. But sometimes, sitting there feels like trying to fit into a puzzle piece that wasn’t really cut for me. Maybe it’s because I’ve always been the “different” one. Maybe it’s because I’ve never felt fully understood. Or maybe I’ve just convinced myself that solitude is safer.
At 27, life looks… complicated. I have things I’m grateful for, blessings I don’t ignore. And yet, there’s a hollow silence that creeps in whenever I hear them laughing in the next room while I scroll through my phone or bury myself in work. I wonder if I’ve chosen this distance, or if it chose me.
Some days, I tell myself I enjoy my little world the music in my headphones, the late-night scribbles in my notebook, the freedom of not having to explain myself. But other days, I feel like I’m missing out on something I’ll never quite catch up to. Maybe I’m the rebel of the family. Maybe I’m just the misfit. Or maybe I’m simply trying to figure out where I belong in a house full of people I love but can’t always sit beside.

And that’s the strangest part — being grateful, yet still feeling incomplete.

PhDs, Pastries & Paris

Ever since I was a child, I have lived by the adage, "Dreams are the seedlings of reality."
I envisioned a future where I would proudly bear the title of Dr. Bharti Thakur, having earned my PhD in my specialized field—a lifelong testament to passion, perseverance, and the belief that "Knowledge is power."

In the vibrant lanes of my hometown, I imagined a quaint bakery—a haven where the aroma of freshly baked bread and sugar-dusted treats fills the air. I fancied names like "Sweet Haven", "The Sugar Grove", or "Baker’s Bliss", each a lyrical tribute to the art of baking, where every confection whispers its own sweet story.

Yet, my dreams soared far beyond these familiar streets. I still recall the moment I saw the Eiffel Tower on a classmate’s notebook—a vision that ignited a cherished desire. I longed for the magic of the City of Love, dreaming of that perfect moment when the love of my life would present me with a proposal beneath the shimmering lights of the Eiffel Tower. As I often say, "In love, every heartbeat is a promise."

At the very core of my heart lies another dream: family. I envision nurturing two beautiful children and embracing the joyful chaos of being a devoted dog mom to my beloved doggo—forming a unique, warm family of three. All these dreams would unfold in a cozy abode—a "green nest" adorned with lush plants, where every leaf sings a song of hope, resilience, and nature’s enduring grace.
This is my epic—a narrative woven with ambition, romance, and the tender beauty of home. Every dream and aspiration is a verse in the ever-unfolding poem of my life, reminding me that "Even the wildest dreams can bloom into reality."

                               {THE TWENTIES ; A decade of struggle and hope}

I don’t know the exact reason why I’m writing this today. Maybe, after a week of juggling my thoughts and trying to figure out the best path for myself, I just needed to vent somewhere. So, here I am. These are the days of struggle in my twenties.

Unlike some, I haven’t spent my twenties partying and living without the pressure of the future. That’s not me. I think about my future very frequently. Every day is different; sometimes I’m filled with confidence and believe I can conquer anything. Other days, I feel confused, burdened by low self-esteem, and pressured by my own overwhelming thoughts.

However, I hold onto the belief that I will make it someday. I’ll figure out something good for myself. As C.S. Lewis once said, “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” I truly believe that if we trust in ourselves, we will eventually find our way.

All the chaos running through my mind will come to rest someday. This period of struggle will transform into the best version of myself, ready to shine in the world.

here's to the journey and the hope that it brings.๐Ÿท

Glimpse into a Serendipitous Day ✨

Just a spontaneous reflection from bhartee ;

~ In the cozy embrace of December, I sit in my office savoring the comforting badam milk crafted by mum-mummiya. The rain dances outside, and the nostalgic tunes of 90's Bollywood songs set the perfect backdrop. Currently, Anuradha Paudwal's soulful rendition of "Zindagi mein jab tumhare gumm nahi" fills the air.๐Ÿชท
                      • As a part of All India Radio for several months now, I've had the privilege of crossing paths with diverse individuals from various walks of life. Today, I had the pleasure of conversing with seasoned radio veterans who generously shared their tales from the past. Reflecting on the evolution of work culture over time, I marvel at the stark differences and how they navigated everything with minimal resources.

~ It's true that every person we encounter imparts valuable lessons. Initially, my enthusiasm for my work here was lacking, but now I appreciate the serendipity that led me to this place. Meeting individuals from a different generation, older and remarkably talented, has been a transformative experience. There's a beauty in spending time with the elderly, as their stories and experiences have the power to bring immense joy. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

"Echoes of Missed Chances"

Hello readers , I welcome y'all to my inaugural voyage into the world of words ,

 ๐Ÿฅ‚ to my maiden poem...

In this life, countless chances came my way,

Yet in denial, I let them slip, dismay.

Regrets would haunt, my choices in review,

Have you, too, faced this melancholy hue?

What remedy to mend the past's cruel rhyme,

For in my mind, these regrets chime.

Gone are the moments I did forsake,

Now, I ponder what those chances could make.

But time, relentless, marches on its race,

Leaving me to ponder in its wake.

Regrets, they linger, yet still, I find,

To learn, to grow, the heart and soul combined.✍๐Ÿผ

Chromatic farewells ๐Ÿ‚

" A beautiful mess of emotions that adds color to the canvas of life "

Hey there, fellow travelers of life!

You'all must have been there –  in that bittersweet moment when you have to bid adieu to someone or something.
Yeppp, you guessed it right , I'am  talking about goodbyes – those sometimes tear-jerking, sometimes relief-inducing, and always memorable moments that life throws our way.

Now, I don't know about you people , but goodbyes always hit me right in the feels, there's something oddly emotional about these farewells , duh!!! ๐Ÿซค

{ Bhartee (me) : i have always been the kind of person who has been very emotional in relationships. I know that I have a limited circle , but I have given a lot of importance to all of them present in it . And saying goodbye during these times is perhaps, a bit more difficult thing for people like me.}

But guys if you look at it, goodbyes aren't just about sadness. They're like the punctuation marks in the story of our lives aren't they ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍♀️
I mean, isn't it fascinating how one chapter closing opens the door to a whole new adventure???

Let's be real, though...๐Ÿ™‡๐Ÿป‍♀️They aren't always easy. In fact, they can be downright tough. But they're a natural part of our journey.  Just think about it – if we never said good-byes,we'd never welcome anything new into our lives, no new friendships, no new experiences, and definitely no new flavors of ice cream to try!!! (writer giggles)

And you know what These Goodbyes teach us that life isn't a static painting; it's a vibrant, ever-changing masterpiece.
So the next time you find yourself waving farewell, don't just focus on the tears. Think about the memories you've made, the lessons you've learned, and the exciting possibilities that lie ahead.

And as I bring this journey to a close, I would like to leave you with these words..."
Cheers to new beginnings and fond memories , ๐Ÿ’Œ

Dear readers, don't forget to keep your heart open for the new hellos that are waiting just around the corner ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป.

a romantic ritual ๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿชท

The connection beyond screens ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿป

So, the act of writing letters to each other began a few years ago.๐Ÿชท

                     [ Isn't it a wonderful thing ??? ]

In today's fast-paced digital era, where people can instantly message each other to convey their thoughts and communicate, we sometimes opt to express ourselves through heartfelt letters.

✍๐Ÿผ This art of writing love letters may appear to be a quaint and old-fashioned gesture, but we find true joy in it. Observing the smile on the recipient's face as they unfold our letter, and especially as they read through it (since we play the roles of each other's postmasters too , we get to witness this also) it's actually an incredibly beautiful feeling. The meticulous care with which the other person has crafted those words that can deeply touch the innermost recesses of our hearts is truly remarkable.

๐Ÿ’Œ These letters are more than mere ink on paper; they often capture raw and unfiltered emotions. They serve as heartfelt expressions that can spin a narrative of romance, yearning, and a connection unlike any other.

{ These handwritten letters transform into timeless keepsakes that can be cherished for years to come. Whether safely stored in a drawer or proudly displayed on a wall, a love letter acts as a constant reminder of the special bond shared between two individuals. And undoubtedly, they stand as a symbol of love that remains engraved in our hearts for eternity }

๐Ÿ’— Eagerly waiting for my postmaster to bring me another

Take time to process.....

•  A HUGE WALL INSIDE MY HEART  :

The feeling of betrayal is one of the worst things a person can experience. It is a feeling of being let down, of being disappointed by someone you thought you could trust. It's the feeling of being stabbed in the back by someone you thought was on your side. Betrayal shatters the trust that is at the heart of any relationship, and it can take years to rebuild that trust once it has been broken.
It starts with small lies, little things that you might not even notice at first. But over time, those lies add up, and the person who you thought you knew begins to show their true colors. And when the truth finally comes out, it's like a punch in the gut. You feel sick, and you wonder how you could have been so blind.
Healing from betrayal is a journey, not a destination. It takes time, patience, and a willingness to let go of the hurt and pain. It's about learning to trust again, both in yourself and in others. It's about finding the strength to forgive, even when it feels impossible.

Trust denied :
It can be a painful and challenging experience. Trust is an essential ingredient in any relationship, be it personal or professional. It is the foundation upon which we build our connections with others, and it forms the bedrock of our sense of security and safety. However, what happens when trust is denied? When we are unable to trust those around us, it can be a deeply unsettling and painful experience that can leave us feeling alone, vulnerable, and unsupported.

• SAME OLD COLORED , STAINED GLASSES:

BETRAYAL ~

• Betrayal is one of the most devastating experiences a person can endure. Whether it comes in the form of deception, or broken promises, betrayal can shatter our trust in others and leave us feeling alone and isolated. However, healing from betrayal is possible.
It's essential to give yourself permission to feel whatever you're feeling, whether it's anger, sadness, or confusion. Bottling up your emotions or denying them can prolong the healing process and make it more challenging to move forward. Instead, allow yourself to feel your emotions fully and express them in healthy ways, such as talking to a trusted friend or therapist or engaging in creative activities like writing or art. Healing from a  betrayal takes time. It's essential to give yourself the space and time you need to process what has happened fully. This may involve taking a break from the relationship or situation that caused the betrayal ,there will be ups and downs along the way. It's okay to take breaks and come back to the healing process when you feel ready.

• LOOKING THINGS WITH A FRESH OUTLOOK :

FORGIVENESS ~

Forgiveness is an essential part of healing from betrayal, but it doesn't mean forgetting what has happened. Forgiveness involves releasing the anger and resentment you may be holding onto and moving forward with a sense of compassion and understanding. However, it's important to set healthy boundaries and protect yourself from further harm. Forgiveness doesn't mean allowing the person who betrayed you to continue to hurt you or placing yourself in a vulnerable position.

Projecting my fears and experiences... ๐ŸŒ

The truth is, we won't always end up with those we feel something deep and meaningful with . Some chapters of our lives are full and dizzying in the best way - with concrete endings and concrete closure. But some chapters end quickly, sometimes in the middle of the page, sometimes before we are even ready .

We simply cannot control what comes to fruition in our lives. We cannot control how long someone chooses to stay. At the end of the day , all we can do is learn from the endings .

And , all we can do is embrace the fact that for a moment in time, we felt something beautiful. For a moment in time , we felt something rare. ๐Ÿค

An Old soul trapped in a Millennial's Body ๐Ÿ‘€

• Is your music library full of songs that were released      decades before you were born???

• Do you feel like an outcast when your friends go out
  clubbing???

• Do you have a hard time dating because you don’t            understand weird millennial dating habits like                    ghosting???

If you answered with a yes to all these questions, congratulations, my friend, you’re an old-soul... ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Many people feel like they are an "old soul trapped in a millennial's body," meaning that they have an appreciation for the past, a different outlook on life, and a desire for more meaningful connections than what modern society seems to offer.

Being an old soul means that you feel a connection to a bygone era. You may feel like you were born in the wrong time period or that you would have fit in better in a different era. You might have a fascination with history, literature, or art that is no longer valued in today's world. You may find yourself drawn to the simpler things in life, such as spending time outdoors, reading books, or enjoying quiet moments with loved ones.
But being an old soul in a millennial's body can also be challenging. You may feel like you don't quite fit in with your peers, who are more focused on social media, technology, and material possessions. You may struggle to connect with others on a deeper level, as many people seem more interested in surface-level interactions than in forming meaningful relationships.

However, there are ways to embrace your old soul nature and find a sense of belonging in today's world. Here are a few tips:

๐Ÿค๐ŸปConnect with like-minded people: Connecting with others who share your passions can help you feel less isolated and more understood.

๐Ÿ•Š️Take time to unplug: Take time to disconnect from your devices and spend time in nature, meditating, or engaging in other activities that allow you to recharge and connect with yourself.

๐Ÿ’ƒEmbrace your uniqueness: Don't try to fit in with the crowd if it doesn't feel authentic to you. Embrace your old soul nature and be proud of who you are.

๐Ÿซ‚ Focus on relationships: Instead of trying to make a lot of superficial connections, focus on building deeper relationships with a few people who share your values and interests.

Being an old soul trapped in a millennial's body can be challenging, but it can also be a gift. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป
By embracing your unique perspective and connecting with others who share your passions, you can create a fulfilling and meaningful life that honors your old soul nature.

A unique personality trait ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป‍♀️

Being an introvert is often misunderstood as being shy, anti-social or unapproachable. But in reality, introverts simply thrive in environments that are less stimulating and prefer to recharge by spending time alone or in quiet spaces.

Introverts tend to be introspective, reflective and deep thinkers. They are often observant, analytical and have a great capacity for empathy. Introverts can make excellent listeners and are often skilled at giving thoughtful advice.

While some people may view introverts as lacking in social skills or being antisocial, this is not necessarily the case. Introverts may have smaller social circles, but they tend to have deeper and more meaningful relationships with those they are close to. They may also enjoy socializing, but may feel drained by prolonged periods of interaction and need time to recharge their batteries.

If you are an introvert, it's important to embrace your personality and find ways to thrive in your own way. This may involve finding quiet spaces to work or reflect, seeking out meaningful conversations with close friends, or pursuing hobbies that allow you to recharge and be yourself.

Ultimately, being an introvert is a unique and valuable aspect of your personality that should be celebrated, rather than stigmatized or misunderstood.

Chenab bridge: An engineering Marvel ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

๐ŸšžThe Chenab Bridge, also known as the Chenab River Bridge, is an engineering marvel located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

It is a railway arch bridge that spans the Chenab River at a height of 359 meters above the river bed, making it the highest rail bridge in the world. The bridge is a part of the 111-kilometer-long Katra to Banihal railway line, which is a part of the Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line project undertaken by the Indian Railways. The construction of the bridge began in 2004 and was completed in 2019, taking almost 15 years to complete.
The bridge is designed to withstand high-velocity winds of up to 260 km/hour and seismic activities of up to 8.0 magnitude on the Richter scale. The bridge is constructed using an innovative technique called the "incremental launching method," where the bridge is constructed in segments on both sides of the river and then launched and joined in the middle. This technique helped to reduce the time required for construction and also minimized the impact on the environment.

๐Ÿšž The bridge has a sleek and elegant design that blends well with the surrounding landscape. The arch of the bridge is designed in the shape of an "M," which represents the initial of the river Chenab. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

๐Ÿšž The construction of the Chenab Bridge is a significant achievement for the Indian Railways and the entire nation. The bridge has not only reduced the travel time between Katra and Banihal but also improved connectivity to the remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The bridge has also helped to boost tourism in the region, as it offers breathtaking views of the Chenab River and the surrounding mountains.
In conclusion, the Chenab Bridge is a testament to human ingenuity and engineering excellence. The bridge is an outstanding example of how innovation and determination can overcome even the most challenging of obstacles. It stands as a symbol of progress, connecting people and communities, and ushering in a new era of development in the region.

A Feast to ones eyes ๐ŸŒผ

However not being a big movie or television fan; I have a very strict choice of what I watch on screen. I love to see and listen to quality stuffs.

                   ๐Ÿ‚ Zindagi Gulzar Hai ๐Ÿ‚

What a serial it was. I must admit – I fell in love with Pakistan's TV industry.  ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Just in 26 episodes – i.e. approximately 20 Hrs; they had completed the series; but at the end of it; we never felt the story was rushed through or they missed out on anything. It had everything – a good looking Hero; a beautiful Heroine , a rich family and their lifestyle, a lower middle class struggling family and their difficulties, Love and Romance, Ego and misunderstanding, social issues around women and class/status. It was correctly paced. Even without displaying any kind of physical or intimate scenes; one can feel the intense romance between Zaroon and Kashaf. The relationship between siblings, friends, couples, parents and children – everything has been so well portrayed; that one can’t avoid falling in love with every character in the serial.

Role of Kashaf Murtaza was played by Sanam Saeed and she is a normal girl with whom one can easily relate to. Similarly Zaroon Junaid played by Fawad Khan is a character who is a little conservative despite of belonging to a rich class family; Every single person has acted fabulously well.
After watching Zindagi Gulzar Hai; I can now believe that one can make decent non boring romantic dramas with a lot of intensity without requiring to have any pornographic shots.

๐ŸŒผHeartfelt thanks to each and every member of Zindagi Gulzar hai for giving us a memorable episode!๐ŸŒผ

A poet of many shades ๐Ÿ“œ✍️

Dear Readers,
The writer is a fan of Jaun Elia's writings...

A well known name among aficionados of Urdu literature of the era, Jaun is the most googled Urdu poet. A peerless poet , whose tragedies in his personal life , and unfulfilled love, migration from his home, shaped his poetry, which throbs with grief and pain till today.

Jaun was famous for his รฃรฑdรกz-ฤ“-bรคyรครฑ.. "phrasing", by which he amused the masses, through his writing on various subjects. His poetry emanates from his scholarly intellect that resonates with readers who can find a heart'pining for unrequited love, all coming from the pen of one person.
I have read most of mushaiaras of Jaun, where he never admitted that he is a poet. In fact jaun believed that poets were jesters. He never liked them much,so he never aspired to be one. Therefore calling Jaun Elia a poet or comparing him with others is actually belittling jaun.
With this ,I bring you some Jaun Elia shayaris which have touched my heart !

• Kitne aish se rehte honge , Kitne itraate honge ,
jaane kaise log woh honge , jo usko bhaate honge ...

• Jo guzaari na ja saki humse,
Humne woh zindagi guzaari hai ...

• Nahi duniya ko jab parwaah humari ,
Toh phir duniya ki parwah kyun karein hum ?

• Yeh mujhe chain kyun nahi padhta ..
Ek hi shaqs tha jahaan mein kya ?

{ With Jaun has just ended Urdu poetry... ✍️
With blood he has created embroidery ๐Ÿชก }

Jaun ! Mujhe ab tera dard samajh aata hai ....๐Ÿค
